The Noida Flower Show was inaugurated on 24 February by CEO Noida Authority, Ritu Maheshwari in the Ramleela ground Sector 21A. She was accompanied by OSD, Vandana Tripathi, Director Horticulture. The show was organised after a hiatus of two years. A joint venture by Noida Authority and Floriculture society Noida, the show had everything for nature lovers – beautiful flowering plants, pots, manures, machinery, accessories in addition to mesmerising displays of floral animals and figures. Like each time residents take pride in the fact that Sector-92 won prizes in the various categories of garden competition – Sarita Kanudia in large garden category; Parul Jain in medium garden category; and Vivek Jain in roadside garden category.
The main attraction of the show was a Terrace Garden display by Floriculture Society members. Manish Yadav assisted in preparing the model for display. There were also beautiful displays of spill-over style and floral selfie points set up, where visitors could take their picture printouts on minimal charges.
With the Marigold as theme flower of the show this year, there were a variety of species on display. Various competitions in different categories were organised.
The magnanimity of the show can be judged by the number of competitive entries this year. Around 2000 entries were received from different sections and classes. Cultural shows were held in the evening; the special attraction was the traditional dance events held by a school of Art and Dance.
This year also the much-awaited Flower Show brought smiles and positivity to all the visitors.
