Sector-50 Market: Uneven Passages, Missing Railings, Encroachments… All Seen Here!

A visit to the Sector-50 market throws up various issues of concern. Would be noticeable to every visitor/shopper, but not to the shopkeepers, landlords nor the Market As-sociation who together or individually are doing not much about it.

  1. Physically Challenged Friendly: The stairs to any shop/bank are bereft of any ramp, thus making it non-friendly and non-accessible to physically-challenged citizens. This is a statutory requirement which needs to be ensured and complied.
  2. Un-even Passages: Each SCO owner has his own level. As one walks around the upper area of the shops the uneven levels are dangerous for kids, senior citizens and others. It’s very easy to miss the steps, fall and in the process suffer injury. It’s difficult, rather impossible, for wheel chairs to be manouvered.
  3. Walking Area of Shoppers: The areas around the shops, i.e. walking area, are encroached upon by goods of shopkeepers etc. These need to be removed.
  4. Un-authorized Platforms: As one comes down the stairs of some shops, few shop keepers have made platforms thus encroaching upon the space.
  5. Missing Railings: At certain places railings are missing. The concerned may have it provided. It’s a safety requirement for all shoppers including small children.
The photos are illustrative and not exhaustive. To further improve the sector market, let’s make it friendlier to all residents, visitors and specially our physically challenged citizens. Noida Authority may intervene as may be required.
