SCRWA Representative Meets the Minister of ULB

On 19th June 2024, SCRWA, represented by Pavneet Singh and  Yash Suneja, met the Minister of Urban Local Bodies and presented issues facing our residents.

1. Bad condition of Central Avenue, Service Roads near sector roads and many other roads inside South City 1.

2. Irregular cleaning of Sewer and stormwater drains – many have not been cleaned for 3 years at least.

3. We face severe Water logging in many areas in South City. The complete Map with details has been shared with the MCG Engineering team multiple times.

4. Irregular cleaning of streets

5. Heaps of garbage and C&D waste lying on 3 green belts surrounding South City 1 and in the internal road of South City 1. There is a garbage dump behind C Block and near Harijan Colony. It is stinking and is a cause of great inconvenience to residents/

6. No electricity connection at L Block Water Pumping stations

7. Frequent breakdown of motors at water pumping stations and 2-3 delays in repair.

8. Frequent rupturing of water supply lines due to direct connection with GMDA main lines in many pumping stations.

9. No pedestrian walkway due to encroachments on key Roads by Hawkers, Shops and residents.

10. Garbage dumped by illegal guesthouses / residents in Silokhra Village on Central Avenue.

11. Water flows into South City Central Avenue from Silokhra Village due to the level difference of roads.

12. Poor maintenance of 2 large parks under CSR in South City 1.

13. Irregularity/Delay in disbursal of Park maintenance Funds.

14. Many empty plots in our colony need cleaning. If MCG cannot arrange to clean, it should provide contact details of owners to RWA so that they can be requested to clean their respective plots.

The Minister has promised that the administration will immediately work to resolve these issues.
