Garba Dancers Enthrall the Residents – 40 Mehndi Artists at Work
As in the past many years, S Block welfare Society, organized a mega Pre Karwa Chauth function for the benefit of the ladies of S Block & neighboring areas. The various activities started at 3 pm on 31st Oct., Tuesday, with 40 Mehndi artists in attendance. Ladies started trooping in much before 3 pm.
These young Mehndi artists have now been coming to S block almost for the past six years & know most of the residents quite well. Mrs Nazma is the head & she gives her services at several wedding functions in S Block.
As the evening progressed, Tambola session, which is very popular with the residents, started sharp at 5 pm. The event is conducted very well by Rupinder Goel with his witty comments.
A live singer couple was also in attendance & rendered beautiful melodious songs on the “Farmaish” of residents till the show ended at 10 pm.
Professional Garba dancers started the performances at 7 pm. Six Exciting performances were given on the beats of popular Bollywood songs.
This year, a dance competition was also held for the ladies of our block & the three best dancers, chosen by a panel of three judges were given huge gift hampers. !st prize was won by Ms. Arora of S 381 & the hamper was sponsored by Shenna Bansal of House of hampers.
Another attractive feature this time was the lucky draw.51 attractive prizes were on display & distributed to the winners.
Main contributors of prizes were, Pardeep Aggarwal, Kenny Malhotra, Soul Derma Clinic, house of Kunchals, Alka’s kitchen, Ms. Rao, Renu Gupta, Ms Rastogi , Mrs. Bhatnagar & a few others. SBWS expresses its gratitude to all.
Shikha Rai graced the occasion & conveyed her greetings to the residents.
SBWS & residents also celebrated her B’ Day with great enthusiasm & welcomed her with B’ Day Songs & by presenting her a silver-plated Photo frame.
SBWS just like as during the Ram Lila, served complimentary dinner, comprising of Pau Bhaji, Piping hot Chhole Bhature & lip smacking Gulab Jamuns.
Around four hundred residents enjoyed the performances & dinner & complimented the MC, CC team for such a beautiful evening.
The Mehndi event continued till around 12.30 am at highly subsidized rates.
