At a glittering function at Tyagaraj Indoor stadium on 5 June, which is celebrated as the World Environment Day, SBWS got a Memento & certificate of appreciation from the Hon’ble Minister,
Govt. of Delhi, Gopal Rai.
The citation has been awarded to only Five RWA’s in Delhi for contributing in safe guarding the Environment of Delhi during the year 2022-23, during Paryavaran Sammelan. More than four thousand people including students were present during this mega function. Arvind Kejriwal, C.M. Delhi was the chief guest.
Our Society was chosen for doing an exemplary work in maintaining the beautiful S Block Park, turning a dusty patch of 2000 sq meters in to a beautiful lawn, for having a water harvesting system of forty thousand liters capacity, thru the funds of MLA & an automatic pop-up water sprinkler system thru the funds of our Councilor. We have also done an exemplary work in tree plantation over the past few years & stopping wastage of water in the block.
The whole of S Block was elated on getting this award. News & photographs of the event were shared in various groups. More than 135 congratulatory messages were received from the members & reisdents. Some are being shared below:
