Savera Club members meet daily at the newly built canopy in L 15. This has become a base after their morning walk. Nearly 15 to 18 men in the age group of 45 to 78 get together and enjoy the “savere ki chai” along with wholesome talks, jokes, and laughter. A chai wala has been appointed who comes on his e-rickshaw to deliver hot chai in flasks. No disposables are used, one-time purchase of cups was made, and these cups are used daily for chai. A cleaner has been appointed who cleans the benches and tables and washes the cups. All members contribute monthly for the chai, snacks, and cleaner. Celebrating birthdays and anniversaries has become a norm. The birthday boy brings the cake and snacks of his choice, and everyone enjoys them; some carry them home while some like to eat and are done with breakfast. For everyone’s birthday and on anniversaries, two roses are presented.
Members who travel outstation bring in their favourite sweet, savory dishes of the city visited. The love to share everything and the wait for something new excites everyone, and they look forward to it. A healthy, fun-loving, and stress-free start to the day is what everyone looks forward to. And it’s so rightly said; why should girls have all the fun!!
