ON THE ONSET, this is by no means a criticism. This note is being written because I love my colony. We have been residents of Safdarjung Enclave for 4 decades or more.
I have watched it deteriorate year after year. It was a colony which was so saught after, changing to one which I am considering to flee.
The RWA ( so called) is apparently an entity on paper only. WHY.
The parks are neglected, never looked after by those appointed to look after them. There is no accountability… therefore cud not be bothered attitude. There are potholes broken walls, dirty, no overseer, unkept.
The Area around RDX, or Rajinder ka dhaba is a nightmare. Unkept, dirty unhygienic, smelly urinals, . Parking of unruly customers make it a place so undesirable . It cud be converted to a beautiful cafe area. Both Bengal Sweet house, and RDX cud put out plants, clean up and possibly make it a charming eating hub.
Sadly the colony has become a commercial hub . Beauty parlours. Fitness hubs, massage parlours, chemists , beauty parlours , banks etc etc , being allowed to take over the sanity of a beautiful residential colony.
No pavement spared . Pedestrians walk on the street itself.
Dhobi, mochi, panwaala, sabzi wala, are occupying the pavements.
WHY.!! Driving thru and into Safdarjung was a pleasure, beautiful homes greens and uninterrupted roads, have now changed to a not so pleasant experience.
Cant put my finger on it, however getting into or out of the colony is not palatable. Both entrances , blocked with haphazard parking of cars. Treo is not bothered that the cars are piled up on the turn of of the road leading into the colony. We have been suffering this apathy fr the past 2 yrs, with no heed to our requests.
Roads opposite the Car Showrooms are choked. Their cars are parked on the approach road and the main road. Car showrooms in a beautiful colony have mushroomed unheaded.
Whoever gave permission to them, has sadly, ruined the very essence of our colony.
Dogs bark and howl all night in the park behind us. Why??? How do the residents living around, tolerate it.
Back lanes in most cases are unkept. Residents have to live with mosquito generating filth. Why?
The inside lanes of the colony look, desolate and unkept and uncared for,when compared to other colonies . WHY??
Office going people take the liberty of parking wherever and however for the day, sometimes not leaving place for residents.
Certain corners in the main and internal lains are used as urinals. Why??
Garbage dumped on the main connecting road. from Bhikaji to Kamal has made the life hell of the residents living opposite it, or around it. WHY?
The police leaves a multitude of barriers on the roads in a haphazard manner. WHY?
Wud love a few of us to get together, drive thru the main road and internal by lanes, with an open mind, and view for ourselves the above mentioned. Lets Make Our Colony Beautiful Again. A desperate resident WHO CARES
