In Indian homes, where chimneys are rare, Santa’s imagined arrival might involve entering through the balcony or simply appearing out of nowhere. This only adds to the charm, proving that imagination knows no bounds.
Children often wake up on Christmas morning to find gifts by their bedside or under a tree, a tradition increasingly adopted by families.
The routine goes, that children write a letter of all their wishes before Christmas week arrives. The letter disappears and instead, new lovely gifts come by–each full of joy and gratefulness.
As a kid, I remember leaving out candies for Santa to eat while, in return, I would get a gift that I’d be ‘secretly’ desiring. Each child is taught a lesson of being thankful for what they have and having a reward for their good behaviour.
The joy lies not only in receiving gifts but also in the belief that a kind stranger cares about their happiness.
Multiple kids describe Santa as “magic, a mysterious man full of positivity and surprises”. A Christmas for them is to enjoy what they have of the year and create goals as the New Year arrives.
In Lotus Boulevard, the joy of Christmas may extend beyond these regions, as urban places light up with grand Christmas trees in malls, Santa-themed events, and festive markets.
Many children organise Secret Santa games, where they experience the joy of giving anonymously. This not only brings smiles to their faces but also teaches them the value of sharing happiness with others.
The red, green and white coloured world spreads anticipation and excitement around the globe.
The anticipation of Christmas and Santa Claus is a celebration of childhood innocence, imagination, and the universal language of love. After all, the true magic of Christmas lies not in the gifts under the tree but in the happiness shared with those around us.
