Santa Visits Suncity

The last page of the calendar brings an end to the festivities of the year. Children all over the wold wait impatiently for weeks to pass by. Suncity’s welfare society well aware of the children’s fascination for the festival get busy in arranging activities which can bring smiles on their faces. Suncity never misses any opportunity to bring happiness to its residents, whether it is for families or for children.

Efforts were made to register the name of the children and parents were requested for their participation to make their children happy with Santa’s visit. Santa visited Suncity on 25th December to distribute gifts to the children of Sun City who were super happy to receive them. We are thankful to Abhimanyu Khanna and his team for organizing and taking the initiative to make Christmas so special for our kids. Each child was super excited to receive Santa and his car in their lanes to bring smile on the faces.  Gifts were provided by the parents for the kids and measures services provided by SRWA. This year more than 100 gifts were delivered to the kids and had an opportunity to spread countless minds.

With the joys of the festival It is also important to explain to the children what Christmas means. Christmas is celebrated on December 25th to mark the birth of Jesus Christ. The name Christmas comes from the Old English term “Cristes Maesse,” which means the Mass of Christ.

Besides its religious significance Christmas is a time for children to celebrate and learn about love, kindness, and giving. It’s also a time for children to spend time with loved ones.

On 24th December evening during my walk in one of the parks of Suncity I found a group of children talking with great excitement about Santa and gifts they are going to get. I stopped by and asked them who is Santa? what do you know about him. They all said he is father Christmas and comes in a Baghee on 25th evening to distributes gifts to children that all. would you like to know more about him? They all said please aunty please please tell us who is Santa. I was happy for their curiosity and sat down near them to tell who is Santa.

In India, Santa Claus is also known by various endearing names such as Christmas Baba,  Christmas Taathaa  or Natal Bua, depending on where in the country you are. Here, he forgoes his usual reindeer-drawn sleigh, opting instead for an, often colourfully decorated, horse-drawn cart laden with gifts for children.

The story behind Santa goes back to the third century Legend states that there was a monk named Nicholas. Nicholas’s parents were wealthy and left the bulk of their estate to Nicholas when they died. Nicholas, who always had the spirit of giving, took his inheritance and gave to those less fortunate and lived a life of humility, soon he became the patron saint of children, popularly as Santa Claus—some called him Saint Nicholas and now he is thought of mainly as the jolly man in red who brings toys to good girls and boys on Christmas eve and became they favourite figure called Father Christmas. Renowned for his reported generosity and secret gift-giving. Children were happy to know about Santa thanked me and ran away.
