The word sangrand in Sikhism means “the first day of the new month”. The dates of Sangrand vary each month based on the Nanakshahi calendar. People visit gurudwaras, listen to gurbani as a mark of respect for the teachings of Guru Granth Sahibji. Thanks to the Gurudwara management team, Dr. Preeti Ahuja and Ekta, who decided to give a platform to kids and started training them to perform during different occasions like Sangraand, Baisakhi, Gurpurabs, etc. Children sing kirtan, do ardaas, take waak or hukamnaama from Guru Granth Sahibji, and distribute pars-haad. All under the guidance of this lovely team led by Ekta of Lil Khalsa Group.
