“Eco-friendly living is the new luxury,” screamed a headline in the Economic Times. This is so true as is the fact that people who follow eco-conscious lifestyles, are indeed exalted in their thinking and way above the bourgeois mentality.
We at Samvada, have decided to showcase our unsung “GreenGuardians” or “Preservationists.” Apart from encouraging these green Entrepreneurs, this would inspire the rest of us.
Seema Singhal (H54, South City1) is one such lady who creates delicious and healthy “date bites” and cakes made with the finest organic ingredients but packages them in beautiful, re-purposed boxes that she collects to make them both attractive and sustainable. She transforms some of the less attractive boxes with decoupage or hand-painting. Each box is thoroughly sanitized before use, ensuring both safety and charm. So far, Seema has infused new life into over 40 boxes, with amazing results. Reusing and upcycling boxes and other items, even for gifting, is her passion as she moulds everyday objects into something special and meaningful.
