It’s been 8 months since the first edition of Samvada came out in Malibu Towne. It was a coming together of community news that is meaningful to our residents and with which we can all relate.
In April, team of Samvada got an opportunity to attend the Samvada Editor’s Meet at the India Habitat Centre. It was a very enriching experience for us as we got to know Samvada has been around NCR for the past 30 years. With its first edition starting from Sector 15, Noida, this hyper local magazine now has a monthly circulation of over one lakh. It’s been the voice of citizens across societies and has helped common issues to be highlighted and solved. Authorities notice it, and our elected representatives cannot ignore it. We heard so many stories about MCG and MLAs reading about something in Samvada and springing into action (for fear of not losing out their precious voter base). Samvada is unique because it does what major magazines and newspapers will not do – talk about community issues and highlight neighbourhood news and people. It’s the collective power of we-the-people that is harnessed month on month and in the end, it does make a difference to society. Let’s ensure we keep Samvada the voice of our community and keep bringing up relevant topics that impact all of us. If you would like to contribute to Samvada, please get in touch with any one of the editors.
Wishing many more meaningful years to Samvada!
