The market area where Rajnder Da Dhaba is located has become a growing source of nuisance for the residents of Safdarjung Enclave, particularly those living in A1, A2, and B4 blocks. What was once a peaceful residential area is now plagued by severe traffic congestion, illegal parking, and unmanageable garbage, turning the lives of residents into a daily struggle. Every evening, the roads around the market come to a standstill due to an influx of visitors to the many dhabas in the area. Long queues of cars waiting for food, double and even triple parking on the roads, and encroachment by eateries have made it nearly impossible for residents to use the road smoothly. In the event of a medical or fire emergency, no vehicle can pass through, making it a serious safety hazard for the neighborhood. The problem is further aggravated by the unchecked garbage disposal. The dhabas and restaurants generate massive amounts of waste every day, yet there is little to no effort by the shop owners or authorities to ensure cleanliness. Overflowing garbage bins, littered food waste, and unhygienic conditions have not only made the area unsightly but have also led to an increase in stray animals scavenging through the waste. Despite repeated complaints from residents, there has been no visible action taken by the municipal authorities. The lack of proper regulation of these roadside eateries has resulted in a complete disregard for civic discipline. The situation in the area is deteriorating with each passing day, and if immediate steps are not taken, it could lead to further chaos and health hazards for the people living nearby.
Residents are urging the authorities to intervene and take strict measures to regulate the illegal dhabas, enforce proper parking rules, and ensure cleanliness in the market. Without swift action, the condition of this once well-maintained locality will only worsen, leaving the residents to suffer the consequences of administrative neglect.
