For this year’s Ind Day, S Block welfare Society’s Cultural committee team decorated the newly laid playground, with more than 100 tricolors, 300 balloons & many tricolored kites, attracting lot of attention. Beautiful food stands were created using tricolor clothes. The whole ground gave a great patriotic feeling.
Flag hoisting ceremony, as announced, was done sharp at 9.00 am.
As in the past, flag hoisting is done by the senior most veteran of our defence forces, living in S Block. Brig. Satish Chandra Gupta HNo S 462) did the honors this time too.
Many stalwarts from defence forces & a large number of members of SBWS attended. Shri Garg (S 452) who is now 100 years old also came & graced the occasion. National anthem was sung by the ladies of the cultural committee of SBWS Basant Lal (HNo S322 SF) sang a few patriotic songs.
A few short speeches were delivered by residents, congratulating the SBWS team for organizing such a beautiful function & for the kind of work, which SBWS does for its residents, throughout the year.
A brunch of piping hot “cholle bhature” with “Gulab Jamuns” & tea was served to more than 200 residents.
It was sweltering hot but residents stayed on & enjoyed the morning.
