After the strict laws made about the non-burning of effigies & bursting of fire crackers, the excitement about celebrating Dusshera has ebbed. At one time before covid, S Block Dusshera was attended by around 1500-2000 residents.
Anyway, now for the past two years, SBWS is organizing a “Ram Lila” before Dusshera, by professional artists.
This year too, it was organized on Sunday, 22nd Oct. in S Block Park.
The programme started with a customary “Pooja” of Lord Rama, Sita Ji & Laxman by the chief guest, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Hon’ble minister, Delhi Govt.& by M.C Members of SBWS. Our Chief Pandit Ji of Shiv Mandir, Conducted the Pooja & other rituals.
The performance lasted for about two hours & a large crowd of around 300 residents, especially children enjoyed the evening. The characters of Hanuman & Hanuman Bali were cheered the loudest.
Shikha Rai, our councilor also joined in & performed Pooja.
Complimentary dinner, comprising of items like, Pav Bhaji, Matar Kulcha, Allo Subzi-Kachori, Desi Ghee Moong Dal halwa & Kulfi was served & relished by more than 350 residents.
As usual, the cultural committee team of SBWS, headed by Sunita Goel & ably assisted by her team mates, did an excellent job. Compering for the evening was done by Ritu Jain & Prithi Gupta.
Lot of appreciative messages were received by the M.C. of SBWS from members.
