S Block welfare society has been celebrating Int. Yoga Day since 2018, in association with Ministry of Ayush & this year was no exception. This year too it was celebrated on 21st June from 6.30 am to 8 am in the lush green S Block senior citizens park with great enthusiasm. Shikha Rai, our local councilor, was the chief guest. The hour-long session was conducted by Yashswini Sharma (S 389) & Anshu Gupta (S 293).
On this occasion, an excellent message was received from Bansuri Swaraj, our newly elected M.P., which was read out before the session by Sunita Gupta, V.P. SBWS. The concluding para of the message read as under;
“This year “Yoga Mahotsav”2024 will mark the 19th anniversary of the International Yoga Day. The importance of Yoga as a way of living, which aims to usher in health, spiritual growth & global peace, is reflected in this year’s theme-“Yoga for self & Society”- which prioritizes the comprehensive well-being of the community, society & world as one family. I extend my best wishes to organizers for the success of the event”. Bansuri Swaraj. Ministry of Ayush provided us with beautiful mats & T shirts with yoga logo. These were distributed to the participants through a lucky dip to 95 lucky winners.
All the participants (around 150) were given “chachh”, frooti packs & samples of 5 Kg. Sharbati Atta, co-sponsored by the famous dairy products brand “Gopala”.
