Acultural program was organized on Oct 26 & 27 as part of the RWCS Diwali Mela. The program on 26th Oct was presented by the ladies of the RWCS Committee it self, for which a giant stage was put up on the lawn. 15 ladies came together to present various segments of the Ramayana while the huge LED screen played accompanying music and images. People could not stop talking about this production, with conversations overflowing on WhatsApp groups and complimenting the director, Savita Saxena.
On Oct 27th, singer Rajpal Rawat enthralled the audience by belting out popular numbers. The Dandia dance saw enthusiastic participation, with ladies swinging away happily. Students of the Raqsaa group performed Bharatnatyam, which was highly appreciated.
Tambola on both days saw active participation. The cultural program was a huge hit. While the organizers had put up beautiful, brightly coloured stalls with good lighting and even provided power points (at an extra charge), there were fewer than 10 shopping stalls occupied.
The Samvada team reached out to residents who had previously been part of the RWCS Diwali Mela, both stall owners and visitors, to understand their feedback. Some stall owners felt the stall charges were high. Visitors mentioned missing popular rides like the Ferris wheel for the kids and felt the food quality could be better. Many fondly remembered the fantastic Diwali Mela of 2022 and shared their hope that this year’s event will bring back the same charm and excitement for everyone involved.
