No Matter What the Provocation May Be Residents Should Maintain A Decorum Towards RWCS Volunteers
On 19 May RWCS informed the residents of the various groups that for better communication with the members and timely redressal of the problems of the residents of the Sector they are making changes in the operation of the Whatsapp Groups and simultaneously devising methods for the residents to lodge their complaints.
RWCS made all the block whatsapp groups admin only which meant that residents couldn’t post anything on the groups but RWCS continued to post their messages.
This decision we believe was triggered after some residents of one of the blocks posted very abusive messages against the RWCS executive committee members and these committee members threatened to resign from the RWCS committee.
Most residents who were not part of the tirade against RWCS committee members are upset because even very important things like obituaries they are not able to share with the residents.
Residents who had become so used to communicating on the RWCS groups launched their own whatsapp group ‘Sec 26 Free Voice Call’ and ‘Sector Synergy Block B’.
The groups were formed with the following objectives in mind:
Collaboration: We believe in the power of working together on community projects. Our combined efforts can lead to remarkable achievements that benefit us all.
Resource Sharing: Our community thrives on generosity. We encourage the circulation of resources to help one another grow and succeed.
Support System: In times of need, be it a personal crisis or a neighborhood issue, we stand shoulder to shoulder. Our group serves as a safety net, ensuring that no one has to face challenges alone.
Platform for Voice: Every voice matters. We provide a space for residents to express their ideas and concerns, ensuring that everyone is heard and fruitful decisions can be made.
Community Strengthening: Beyond addressing immediate needs, we aim to build lasting bonds among neighbors. By celebrating our successes and facing our challenges together, we strengthen our community.
In essence, ‘Sector 26 Free Voice Call’ and ‘Sector Synergy Block B are more than just groups; it’s a movement towards creating a harmonious, self-sustaining, and resilient community.
The groups have become very active and residents are posting their concerns regarding various issues of the sector on the groups. But the flaw is that there is no RWCS executive on these groups to handle these concerns. Few residents have taken upon themselves to take the concerns directly to the RWCS.
We recommend that RWCS reviews starting the groups in its old format all over again.
