RWCS Decides to Open Whatsapp Groups at the AGM

Residents Welcome This Move

On Sun 15 Sep RWCS organised its Annual General Body Meeting in the Gangotri hall. Around 100 resident members attended the meeting.

One of the most important points of the AGM agenda was that the residents’ long standing demand of opening the RWCS whatsapp groups and make them two-way communication was opened with some riders.

During the AGM Girish Aneja (B Block) raised the following financial questions:

• Books show that RWCS has 28 Lakhs interest free security but there is only 20 lakhs in FD. • Annual receipts from the badminton court show that it was primarily being used by the non-residents and residents hardly use it. •Girish said there is not enough money in RW&CS and if DG set requires immediate change, what will be the course of action.
• Books show that there is also interest free security taken from the Kabaris • Expense against the cultural events was very high.

Prez Govind Sharma answered each and every question to the satisfaction of the house. Regarding the badminton court being used less by the residents and more by the non-residents he said what he could do if the residents don’t use such a beautiful facility. On money that may be needed for the replacement of the generator he clarified that the gentry of the sector is so good that he will be able to collect 15 to 20 lakhs required within one or two days. However, Girish and his friends were not satisfied.

Finally, the accounts were passed with majority by raise of hands.

Following is the letter of SC Mittal regarding opening of whatsapp groups:

Dear Members,

We have been receiving requests from the RW&CS members to remove restrictions imposed in the Block WhatsApp Groups for two-way communications to facilitate communication regarding issues faced by the members for support from RW&CS Executive Committee. Before imposing such restrictions, reasons why these restrictions are required were communicated to all members. A group of EC members considered the requests of members in a meeting on 14th September’24 and decided to lift these restrictions and authorized the President to announce this decision in the AGM, being held on 15th September’24 with a rider that these communications will pertain to the issues of the sector / the interest of the members. No political or religious communications which may hurt other group of members / communities will be allowed in these groups. The language of communications should also not be abusive and hurt any member or EC of RW&CS. If any member does not adhere to the above guidelines, the Administrator may remove such member’s number from the group with the consent of President and / or Secretary of RW&CS.
