The RWA of DLF 2, held its first Annual General Meeting since the new Governing Council was elected in September 2021
The meeting was held for the RWA members, on 2nd December 2022, at the Community Centre. As always a detailed report of the accounts was shared across WhatsApp prior to the meeting, for all to read through. With 2/3rd of the members present at the meeting, the accounts report was shared by the Treasurer and Joint Treasurer, while the President and the General Secretary briefed all of the various achievements in other fields like water and electricity. Many questions were asked with regard to garbage dumping in empty plots. The idea of composting at the colony level was also proposed by many residents and issues with security were also raised, solutions to which are all, a work in progress. The meeting was adjourned after 90 minutes to be followed by dinner for all.
The RWA has been keeping the residents’ queries and issues at the forefront and has been organizing various camps for ease of all. A voter id and Aadhar card camp was organised at the community centre, in association with the RBL bank on the 11th of December. A camp for the Parivar Pehchaan Patra (PPP) was also organized on the 24th of December at the community centre.
The Suraksha committee is back with its focus on the boom barriers at the 6 entry gates of the colony. Until that idea comes to fruition, the team is working on convincing residents of the importance & the benefits of boom barriers and the safety and security after their installation. On 24th of December the Suraksha committee and its volunteers organized a session with the ACP – Shri Vikash Kaushik , HPS & Shri Satyendra Singh – SHO DLF phase 2 police station, so that the residents could raise their grievances with them directly. Some agendas discussed were; Sex workers on MG road, Illegal activities in DLF 2 & hawkers at MG road, Petty crimes happening in DLF 2, The verification process for tenants and domestic help and more. Prior to this session the SHO of DLF phase 2, police station also shared a video sharing a message with regards to the verification process and requesting cooperation from residents.
We are hopeful that with the close involvement of resident representatives and the keepers of the law, security will not be a reason for worry for any resident in DLF 2.
