RWA Initiative To Bring Cyber Security Awareness For Residents

Now a day’s cyber fraud and crime is rising across the globe.

RWA sector 39 has been pioneer in bringing  best practices for Cyber awareness for residents and has been conducting sessions regularly to make our residents better informed to increase security while surfing web. Scammers are using innovative tricks to disguise you into lucrative offers and makes you click on link which can make your phone vulnerable and prone to cyber attacks causing loss of money, data and private details.

All age groups are being targeted by the scammers while modus operandi is different .It is important to avoid clicking any phishing links and ensure to make your device Chat bot free.

In this regard RWA sector 39 along with sponsors, orgnised a cyber security session for the residents which was presented by Noida Police Cyber a cell  on October 14 at 10:00 am in Sector 39 community centre .

A team of Noida Police comprising of DCP , Harish Chander , Addl DCP SM Awasthi and ACP Rajneesh Verma , Cyber crime inspector  Vinod Yadav along with their team . RWA MC members of different sectors 30, 36 , 40 also  attended the session and shared their experiences .

Members presented case studies and potential threats to residents from cyber security lapses while using internet or by attending spam calls and messages.

The crux of the message is that don’t get tempted by discounts/freebies/revival of lapsed policies/now Diwali Damaka/call from friends. The list also includes ‘Your electricity will be disconnected,your ATM will get blocked, threats of putting fabricated videos on YouTube etc’. One should not duped through such messages.

One needs to be aware as to not get carried away by lucrative offers or fear of losing out. Verify details. Nothing comes free in physical world so how you can get high discounts in virtual word.

Even if someone falls victim, report the  matter to cyber cell in each PS or report at 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in

Immediate reporting can facilitate blocking of fraudesters bank accounts and recover money.

If money is transferred from your bank account without your knowledge, report within 3 days to bank and you will get amount from the bank.

Please be vigilant and be aware of such attacks and calls from unknown numbers.

Large number of residents attended the event which clarified several doubts raised by them. The meeting ended with vote of thanks and serving of light refreshments.
