The office term of the current Governing Council of RWA of DLF2 is nearing an end in August 2024. RWA held its Annual General meeting on 16 June 2024 and announced the upcoming elections to be held on 25 August.
The Residents Welfare Association of DLF2 holds its elections every three years, where all active members vote for a set of candidates to be part of the Governing Council. As per the Bye-laws amended in 2021, the GC body will have a maximum of 13 members elected by the General body members. The Governing Council once in place, then internally nominates the key office bearers namely President, Vice-President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, Joint Treasurer; and other executive members.
The current team has appointed Vivek Gulati as the returning officer for this round of the elections.Gulati, in early July, released the schedule of the upcoming elections with the nomination form for candidates seeking to contest.
Residents were asked to keep their membership active and to join to be able to vote. All new member sign-ups were last done till 6 July (45 days before elections), while the pending renewals of last 90 days were allowed to complete due diligence by 17 July. All these RWA members with active membership as on 17 July 2024 only shall be eligible to vote in the election. The final list of 570 members eligible to cast their vote for RWA election has been published on 19 July 2024.
The elections will be held on 25 August by ballot system in-person where every member can cast their vote for a maximum thirteen (13) candidates to be part of the Governing council of RWA. These 13 Candidates having the highest votes will form the GC team.
