Children from NIPID ( National Institute For Empowerment Of Person With Intellectual Disability) had a fun day on 19 November when they were invited by our RWA for a picnic and socialising in the central park.
This Institute is functioning in C block sector 40 for a couple of years now. During Diwali time, the management invited our RWA representatives to an exhibition of products made by these special children. The principal was proud of their feat and wanted her children to interact with our sector residents. This is how our RWA thought of arranging a get together for them in the park. Poonam Sharma also invited a few representatives from a renowned organization who entertained the kids. Peeya Vohra presented a beautiful dance for them. Our sector residents also spent good time with them. Few of our RWA office bearers were present along with the residents. President Mr Sehgal, Arun Sharma, Ashok Sharma and Poonam Sharma were there to meet the children . Snacks were served to all by RWA and Madhu Mittal from D block . Basically the main aim was to bring these special children to the main stream.
It was definitely a noble thought. These kinds of activities should be organized more often. More and more residents need to come forward and encourage and help our RWA in organizing such outings. This was a sweet gesture by RWA sector 40 and a social responsibility too. RWA can arrange programmes for these children regularly and on a larger scale.
