It was a divine experience to participate in a Rudra Puja and Satsang programme on 15 July. This day, being also Shrawan Shivratri, was most auspicious to soak in sacred Rudram chants invoking Shiva Tattva.
Why do Rudra Puja?
The world is a play of energy: negative and positive. When we pray to Shiva – the Lord of Transformation – the entire negative energy around us in form of disease, depression, and unhappiness gets transformed into peace, prosperity and joy.
Then peace surrounds us in body, mind and soul.
Rudra Puja is an ancient practice followed in India since time immemorial. ‘Rudra’ means Shiva – the Benevolent One, the Destroyer of Evil. ‘Puja’ means that which is born out of fullness. Through this Puja, one can aim for inner peace and fulfilment.
In this Puja, Lord Shiva is worshipped in his Rudra form. It is hailed by all Vedic scriptures as one of the greatest Pujas to remove all evils, to attain all desires and for all-round prosperity.
The programme started with soul touching Bhajans by Gagan and his team.
The Puja was conducted by Pujya saint Swami Brahmchitt ji. It was performed by him with such devotion and perfection that every participant felt blessed with the touch of divine energies. He also apprised participants that to gain maximum benefit, they must meditate and listen to each mantra with full devotion.
It is not just the meaning of the Mantra but also the chanting sound itself which purifies your mind and body.
After the Puja, Gagan and team again mesmerized everyone with their amazing Bhajans. The programme concluded with distribution of Prasad by Swami ji.
Thanks to organizers, mainly – Sonia Gupta, Aarti Sehajpaul, Nilesh Kumar, Chhaya Chandra and the entire ‘Art of Living’ team for organizing such a wonderful event. Thanks also to many volunteers who contributed in various ways to make this event most successful.
