A Rock Concert, Sunday 27 November, as part of Meghdutam Rangmanch’s presentation in the Festival was a much awaited event, yet young folks were sceptical about the show and its impact. Much to their surprise and joy, the evening turned out to be a hit with the youth who sang and danced, swayed their mobile torch lights to the music of the two bands which performed in the Rock Concert – NeoGroove and Airstream.
NeoGroove took to the stage first with Ashish Senapati (Lead Vocal), Abhishek on the keyboards, Anchit on the guitar, Peter as the bass guitarist and Adhyan as the guest drummer, and presented a few Bollywood Pop songs such as Yaro, Dooba dooba, Purane jeans and Papa Kehte Hain.
Airstream came in next with Alem (Lead vocals), Adhyan on the drums, Ngatik as the bass guitarist, Sorei and Peter on the guitar, presenting Rock Music of the 70s and 80s. Numbers such as Summer of ’69, Don’t let me down, It’s my Life, among several others, were a big hit with the audience.
Meghdutam Rangmanch ensured that the sound output required for a rock concert was in place and had arranged for equipment of sufficient wattage. After all, what’s the fun of organizing a Rock Concert if you don’t have equipment to rock the amphitheatre!
And when’s the next Rock Concert?
