A big robbery occurred at the residence of a resident of F-Block on 27th Oct’23 by their newly hired cook and maid (both Nepal natives) with the aid of their two accomplices. The elderly couple were alone that day in their house. The servants mixed sedatives in the food making the couple unconscious. They broke open the electronically locked safes with some tools and made a loot of Rs. 35 Lakhs, jewellery worth around Rs. 1.5 Cr. and cleverly decamped with the booty in the victim’s Toyota Innova car.
After some time, the elderly lady regained consciousness and called her daughter narrating the incident. Her daughter informed the police who reached the scene promptly and got the unconscious and traumatised couple admitted to a hospital. FIR has been registered and the case is being investigated by the police. The whole incident has been captured in the CCTVs installed in the house. The unfortunate horrifying incident sends a strong signal to all to be extremely cautious while hiring house help and get them police verified before employing.
