On February 18, 2025, Ritu Jain, a resident of DLF Phase 2 and Conservator at the Parliament Museum in New Delhi, had the honor of guiding former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his family through the art spaces of the new Parliament building. Accompanying Mr. Sunak were his wife, Akshata Murty, their two daughters and Sudha Murthy, chairperson of Infosys Foundation, member of the Rajya Sabha (the upper house of the Indian Parliament).
During the tour, Mrs. Jain provided an in-depth exploration of various galleries that showcased India’s rich craft traditions, diverse music and dance forms, and significant monuments. The visitors were particularly impressed by the Constitutional Hall and the diorama depicting India as the “Mother of Democracy.”
Mrs. Jain’s role involves preserving and presenting the Parliament Museum’s extensive collection, which reflects India’s democratic heritage. Her expertise and dedication were evident as she shared insights into the exhibits, enhancing the experience for the distinguished guests.
This visit underscores the importance of cultural exchange and the appreciation of democratic values. Mrs. Jain has been instrumental in guiding many visits of both foreign and Indian dignitaries.
