Ridgewood’s Planetary Parade Event

In February 2025, the universe presented a rare and mesmerizing phenomenon – a planetary parade, where multiple planets aligned in the night sky, offering a visual treat for stargazers. This extraordinary event, occurring after several years, was a golden opportunity for astronomy enthusiasts and casual observers alike.

Recognising the significance of this celestial alignment, Ridgewood took the initiative to bring this experience closer to its residents:

6th February: A gathering of 130 residents witnessed the alignment of the Moon, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter.

12th February: By popular demand, a second event attracted 120 attendees, eager to marvel at the celestial display.

These events transcended age barriers, captivating children, parents, and senior citizens alike. Beyond the immediate wonder, they served as a catalyst, igniting a passion for astronomy and science among the younger attendees. To enhance the communal experience, food stalls were set up, adding a festive touch to the evenings. Notably, this marked the first time such an event in Ridgewood was ticketed, a decision that culminated in resounding success.

Kudos to Ridgewood for seizing this celestial moment and fostering a deeper connection between its residents and the wonders of the universe. Here’s to many more nights under the stars!
