Decides to retrofit their Diesel Generators
To meet the stringent and mandatory compliance of Emission from DG Sets as per CAQM-76 (Commission for Air Quality Management) dated 29.09.2023, Ridgewood RWA held a General Body Meeting for its members on 4th October 2023.
The residents gathered in the central lawn where the BOM presented a couple of proposals on how to comply with the recent DG set notice from the authorities. A projection screen was set up so that everyone present could understand the proposals.
Important decisions were taken with overwhelming unanimity that 4 out of 7, 500KVA DG sets will be fitted with RECD (Retrofit Emission Control Device) soonest. These devices fitted in the DG exhaust reduce the PM levels (particulate matter) before the exhaust is let off in the atmosphere to an acceptable level as prescribed now by CAQM.
The other proposal was to make changes in the DG whereby they can be used on a mixture of Gas and Diesel. This option was rejected due to cost and availability of Gas.
After experience from the retrofitted 4 DG Sets, further remaining 3 shall be taken up as per RWE President Naveen Zutshi.
