Mahakumbh “the world largest pilgrimage” at Prayagraj that began on 13 January has just concluded, on 26 February, after 45 days. It is a significant event in Hindu spirituality related to mythology, particularly the tale of Samudra Manthan. Every second citizen visited Prayag at this auspicious occasion which occurs once every 144th years as per astrological saying. Here three rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Sarswati meets at one point called sangam. This being once-in-lifetime event attracted not only Hindus but also other people from across the world who believe in Hinduism and took a holy dip at sangam.
Many residents of our sector also visited the Mahakumbh Mela. The experience of every one was a different story but all were happy and spiritually blessed with a holy dip at this auspicious occasion.
D S Pawar (D block) visited the Mahakumbh mela with all family members by car and had pleasant stay at Military Guest house. The family had a dip at Triveni sangam early morning at 5:00 am.
He was happy with the arrangement at Prayag as every person on duty was carrying out the assigned task with full energy and devotion. R S Parihar (A block) had the opportunity to visit twice. He went by road and stayed at tent city. He appreciated the basic amenity at temporary accommodation and just walking distance to the well managed ghat.
Umesh Pandey (B block) had the privilege of getting priority arrangement for his family and faced no problem to reach the destination as his vehicle was allowed to go through and the boat was also pre-booked for snan.
I P Singh and Poonam (B-255) went by road and reached their destination hassle free in the evening without any traffic jam. He stated that despite being flooded with people the entire city including Tent City was well managed.
He liked the cluster of changing rooms and free food served at many camps. He was mesmerized by holy vibes after a dip at Trivenisangam. Udaivir Singh and Chandra (E block) had to take e-rickshaw for last mile journey to the pre-booked stay at Arail Road as the cab from airport was not allowed up to destination due more people walking on road.
He walked down to the Arail ghat in the evening after dinner to see the well-lit entire Tent city and had snan at Trivenisangam next morning by boat. The holy dip overshadowed other difficulties of walking through restricted space on the road and getting in to the boat, little away from the shore.
The layout and arrangement of Tent city was marvelous. The personal safety and use of technology, i.e. barcode and numbers at each light pole and proper signage, was really appreciable. Ample availability of free drinking water prevented litter of plastic bottles. The area was cleaned 24X7 in order to maintain the sanctity of sangam.
As seen on social media and television the world biggest gathering of more than 66 crores people from all over the world at small city of Prayag in our country has created a history. It is a matter of pride for every citizen to cheer with.
