Residents Trying To Hold DLF-2 Infra Together

DLF 2 has been a witness to the deteriorating conditions of basic infrastructure and supply to residents. The situation is worsening with every passing day.

The water supply from GMDA has been erratic in the last many months.

Once again the residents group raised the issue with GMDA Chief Executive Engineers, Senior Town Planner and DLF Estate authorities. The complaint has also been raised on the CM window. A group of residents had met with DC Gurugram and MCG officials last month. The residents met up at Vipin Yadav’s house to further discuss and follow up on the status of the meeting with each official. The supply was again hampered from 10-12 Nov due to a breach detected by GMDA on the GWS canal.

The approval and construction of J block underground water tank to support the ever-increasing demand for water is also long overdue. As per an update from the office of Mrs Rama Rathee, the technical tenders and assessment process is expected to start soon so that work on the ground can begin at the earliest possible.

In another session, many residents met with DLF 2 Police station SHO Mr. Sunder Pal, DLF2 Estate Manager Mr. Dharamvir Dhillon, QRT Incharge Mr. Govind, and Sanitation Incharge Mr. Subham Tiwari to discuss problems faced in the residential conditions.

Issues raised by residents were Openings in the Boundary wall on Poorvi Marg, Stealing of Sanitation Manhole covers, Parking of commercial vehicles, Commercial Activities, thoroughfare Entry of vehicles from NH-48 causing congestion within the colony, Abandoned Houses and Covering over the drainage with parking ramps which leads to water logging and seepage.

The officials have assured stricter vigilance and improvements in all areas. It was further suggested that Police and QRT deployment for rounds across DLF2 must be increased. A proposal was put forward for the implementation of a system with residents as Lane volunteers to coordinate with the officials.

In continuation to the same deep cleaning drives including cleaning of drains and empty ploys by the DLF-MCG teams are being initiated block-wise. One such was done in K block.

All these drives have been led by Vipin Yadav along with a team of residents.

Recently DLF announced an increase in maintenance charges for its water supply and development services, which RWA DLF2, QERWA and other residential bodies have contested as the same. It is still not clarified if the residents will be seeing the increased charges on their next DLF bills.
