New Friends Colony residents, are being troubled, by dogs barking, through the night. The number of street dogs, are increasing but this does not deter residents, who are feeding them, as an act of kindness.
According to Mr Rajeev Seth, resident of D block, street dogs in his lane, run after walkers and even threaten to bite them. It gets difficult for him, to take his pet, for a walk, the stray dogs threaten the pet and the owner is in danger, trying to save the pet.
Ms Priya Jain complained that monkeys tore the mosquito net in their veranda and entered their kitchen. Ms Vinita Oberoi says that the monkeys have destroyed their plants and sit in their driveway for hours, making it difficult for people to move around. Ms Neeta Kapoor complains of stray dogs barking all night, causing sleepless nights.
Coexistence of all elements of nature is important but in an urban setup this is next to impossible . Animals have to be kept in their natural habitat, for them to survive. Simultaneously human beings are comfortable in their urban environment.
