Residents Refused To Get Their Dogs For Pooping In Nearby Lanes

There are always two sides to a story and it is unfair to judge a situation without hearing about both. In the recent year and a half, our colony has seen a steep rise in the increase of pet population.

It is indeed a good idea to keep one, unconditional love, affection, security etc are some of the reasons why GenX is keeping pets, however, there are certain boundaries pet parents have to respect as far as neighbours and the neighbourhood is concerned.

The issue of dog pooping in residential areas outside neighbouring houses is a major problem that has been plaguing communities for many years. Not only is it a health hazard, but it is also unsightly and offensive to residents who have to deal with it daily. Dog owners who allow their pets to poop in public spaces, instead of taking them to designated areas for their needs, are not only neglecting their responsibility but also putting the health of others at risk.

After the gates have come up in different A Block lanes, each gated lane has reserved the right to not allow outside pets to come in and poop, fairly so, as inside residents can still be monitored however outsiders and their dog walkers don’t listen to anybody, hence the rule of not allowing outside dogs into the gates lanes!

One of the primary concerns is the health hazards associated with dog poop. The waste from dogs carries various types of bacteria, parasites, and viruses that can be harmful to humans and other animals. For instance, the parasite roundworm can cause eye and brain damage if it infects humans, and the bacteria salmonella can lead to food poisoning if human is infected!

“How difficult is it to carry a dog poop cleaner along when going to walk them?” asks Mr Bahl resident of A block. These are some grievances we hear only daily basis on our Whatapp groups.

“There are some responsible dog parents who do due diligence always however one bad parent spoils the clan impression always” says Hila Gulati from Park Street group.

Let’s be more responsible as pet parents towards our neighbours and scoop our poop.
