Residents, whose houses face Club-26 have posted many times on WhatsApp groups about the foul smell emanating from the composter. This composter was installed many years ago on orders from the National Green Tribunal. Its placement was subsequently moved from near the main gate to its present location, which is the service gate. It is said that the composter is not being run regularly as it is malfunctioning. So whenever the composter is run, the winds blow the stink towards the residences, which causes distress to the residents. Residents say that they have taken up the matter with the Club-26 and say that the Club admits that the composter is not working properly but has to run it from time to time as per NGT orders. They also say that, as per Club-26, the manufacturer is refusing to renew the annual maintenance contract (AMC), which is the reason behind the lack of repair of the composter. One hopes that Club 26 will take action on the complaints of the residents.
