Residents lose sleep, and peace of mind due to rules being flaunted by builders of mall under construction on MG Road
Residents of lane L 29 – 31 have been bearing with all kinds of construction-related woes being created by M3M who are in the process of building a new mall on MG Road. L-Ext residents are already struggling with the issue of having a hospital site that is under construction which is a concern for these residents, due to its gates which fall inside the colony. One of the hospital gates is facing the school in the neighbourhood.
To add to the woes M3M has started building a Mall right behind the above-mentioned lanes. Repeated complaints about late-night construction, material being dropped, trucks and cranes creating noise, and lights flashing have been pouring in from the affected residents.
The GC members of RWA of DLF 2 have been in touch with the builders and approached the management of M3M. Ex-Councillor Rama Rani Rathee was also informed, and residents have taken to Twitter and articles have been written in the newspapers too, but all in vain. Despite promises about keeping the timings and noise within allowed permission nothing seems to be taken seriously and the residents continue to suffer. The boundary wall, water pipes, aquaguard fixed for the staff of a resident, Geita ji from L 29 was damaged due to the construction happening at the site.
After the intervention of GC member, Vikas Thapar, RWA of DLF 2 along with a few residents, the repairs were undertaken and assurance of putting up metallic sheets up to the height of the residential buildings was promised. The builder also promised that no noise-related work will be carried out after 8 pm.
