Resetting The Rules of the Club, Our Community Centre

Our elected representatives are to be congratulated for the recent steps reversing the trend of outsiders enjoying facilities meant for members.

We have to collectively make sure the Club does not again become a public ‘Banquet Hall’ or ‘Commercial Bar’, and the number of guests permitted should be put before the AGM.

The License Agreement between NOIDA and RWA establishes the relationship with the Club and is coming up for renewal. Based on the experience of the last thirty years, the relationship needs to be discussed in the RWA to maintain the Club’s character as our Community Centre.

Clause 10 of the License Agreement puts the RWA in a supervisory position over the Club, and should be expanded to include general or specific directions from the RWA to the Club.

The role of the Secretary of the RWA as ex-officio member of the Club CMC as representative of the RWA also needs to be defined. In the past the Secretary of the RWA had expressed helplessness in carrying out decisions taken by the RWA with respect to the functioning of the Club. Fortunately, such a situation does not exist at present but steps need to be taken to prevent a reccurrence.
