This year’s Republic Day celebration at Retreat was a truly inspiring and heart-warming experience. Unlike previous years, it kicked off with a unique touch: a moving presentation by ex-defence personnel from Retreat. They shared their journeys, the roles they played, and the achievements they earned, their medals and stars serving as tangible testaments to their dedication. This personal touch set the stage for the traditional elements – the stirring march past, the unfurling of the national flag, and the unifying resonance of the national anthem.
President’s speech then gave way to a vibrant cultural program. Retreat residents of all ages took centre stage, mesmerizing the audience with a kaleidoscope of colourful activities. From soulful songs and heartfelt poetry to energetic dances, enthralling music, and graceful yoga demonstrations, the program offered a complete entertainment package, yet one deeply infused with the spirit of patriotism and national unity.
