A bright sunny morning, the Tricolour unfurled in all its glory; its three vibrant colours fluttering unfettered against the blue skyline, the national anthem echoing in the back-
ground, all elements came together beautifully, immersing all in the spirit of patriotism to mark the 76th Republic Day.
The scene at Ivy, not very different from all others across the country and yet made special by the participation of its residents. The flag hoisting was done by Anil Sinha, a senior resident of Ivy, who while congratulating everybody, touched on the topic of inclusivity and how it’s important to increase the happiness quotient of the society. This was followed by a dance performance by the pretty little brigade of Ivy; a truly heartwarming sight, followed by a very relatable, patriotic speech and poem recital by Neelima Bhargav. जब हम 15 अगस्त 26 जनवरी को देश का झंडा फहराते हैं तो हम सब मन से जुड़ते है, देश भक्ति अपने आप हम में सिमट आती है, अपना देश – ऐसी भावना है जिसके लिए हम हर संकट से लड़ने को तैयार रहते हैं, ये सच है कि हम सब कुछ न कुछ, कहीं न कहीं किसी न किसी बात से अपने देश में हो रहे हर पल बदलाव पर कभी खुश होते हैं और कभी क्रोध करते है, कभी परेशान होकर यह भी देते हैं कि ये देश रहने लायक अब रहा ही नहीं पर जब बंदे मातरम् की धुन कानों में पढ़कर दिल में उतरती है तो हर इंसान के रोंगटे खड़े हो जाते हैं जब शहीदों की बात होती है तो हर किसी की आंखें नम हो जाती हैं, इस देश की मिट्ठी की महक हम अपने जज्बात में महसूस करते हैं।
हमारा आपस का भाईचारा हमें एक होने का एहसास दिलाता है, हम आपस में लड़ते हैं झगड़ते हैं पर क्रिकट की एक बाॅल पर एक रन के लिए करोड़ों लोगो की धड़कने एक हो जाती है, सब हम में बदल जाता है, हमारा जज्बा जीतता है और हमारी ही शिकस्त होती है, हम हमेशा हम ही रहते है, देश की बात करें तो मैं कभी नहीं आता हम के सामने।
हम में वह ताकत है जो सारी दुनिया के सामने सीना तान के खड़े हो कर हमारे देश को जिंदाबाद कहने को सदा लालायित रहती है।
पर आज कल जो धर्म के नाम पर आपस में कटुता आ रही है वह अच्छी बात नहीं है हम सब एक है भारतीय, हमारा संविधान भी यही कहता है।

The food was the usual South Indian food truck; hot spicy rasam, dosa and the works. Nothing like ‘sapadam’ to bring out the residents and help them bond with each other and spread good cheer !
