The 75th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 26 January. Braving the intense chill and morning fog, the programme started at 9:00 am. The unfurling of flag was followed by National anthem. With this began the events of the day. There was great participation by the children who eagerly waited for their turn.
Key attractions of the day were:
Parade by the kids – Aradhya, Anusha, Abhyuday, Shivam, Garvit, Aviyan, Aditya, Navasch, Navam, Ishan, Noddy, Shreya). Unfurling the National Flag by kids followed by National anthem and speech by our president, Deepak Mangal. Awards to PP Staff for their contribution. Trophies and Certificates given to Sports Fest winners and runners, and Certificate of Appreciation to event umpires and commentators.
There were many Cultural Performances that included Cultural Diversity Dance Performance (by 24 children). In this there was State-wise performance. Kudos to their mentors! The kid and mentor details are as follows – Maharashtra (Ahana + Avyan), J&K (Gaurvi + Navam + Kyra), Gujarat (Ritisha + Aditya) and their mentor was Shabdita. Punjab (Navya + Kanav + Madhav + Chiku + Navansh + Ishita + Ananya) mentorwas Mansi. For Rajasthan (Shreya + Anvi + Kyra), Bengal (Naysa + Aradhya), Haryana (Hazel + Rayna), Assam (Priyadarshni), U.P (Sanvi Kaushik + Mishthi Kumar) the mentorwas Manya.
In Fancy Dress show children who participated were – Aahana (Rani Laxmi Bai), Avyan (Bhagat Singh), Shantanu Chetry (soldier), Garvit Singh (Dr. B.R Ambedkar), Aadhya Malhotra (Bharat Mata), Ojaswa Singh (Subhash Chandra Bose).
There was Dance Performance by Bhavna Batra troupe that included – Aazeen Vig, Aarna Batra, Kavya Batra and Prashri. Solo Dance by Mishthi Kumar. Another Dance by Apramita troupe of Shanaya Rai, Parikshita Chaudhary, Mansha Dalmia, Bhavya Garg, Suhanya Johari, Aishwarya Pullabhatla, Vinayak Attri, Dhanya Sharma, Aradhya Sharma, and Himanshi Sharma.
In Patriotic Group Song the children who participated were – Vinayak Attri, Dhanya sharma, Navya Khurana, Shivam, Garvit Singh and Arjun. In Ladies group song participants were – Rinku Mangal, Monica Upadhya, Seema K Singh, Sangeeta, Neha Bansal, Deepika Goyal and Alka Bhatnagar. Another song was by Seema K Singh and Aparna Pathak.
In Kids Drawing Competition participants were – Kanav, Azeen, Aarna, Lavanya, Vinni, Dhani and Tisya.
The Leisure Games were conducted by Shalini Varshney and the events were – Musical Chair for Sr. Ladies, Musical Chair for Gents, Musical Chair for Ladies, Chinese Whisper for Ladies, and Action-based Chinese Whisper for Ladies.
The fun-filled, event-packed day was followed by grand lunch for all residents, which included aloo-puri, choley, halwa and raita.
In the evening at around 5:30 pm, a flag lowering ceremony was performed to mark a formal closure of the event.
