Friday, 26 January 2024, was a proud day for every citizen of India, irrespective of caste, creed or culture, as our country celebrated its 75th Republic Day. This Day was the perfect time for our Ram Vihar residents to celebrate the unity and brotherhood of our country.
The celebration began with the flag hoisting of our National Flag at 11.30 hrs in the society lawn. Brig. Ashok Anand, President of Ram Vihar unfurled the national flag and soon after this the national anthem was sung. Sweets were distributed to all present in the celebration.
This was followed by drawing / painting competition for children in 2 categories -3 years to 6 years and 7 years to 12 years. Children participating in the competition were asked to get their own drawing board and painting material. Drawing sheets were provided by the society.
There were many enthusiastic children who were well prepared for this competition. Republic Day was the theme and accordingly children were asked to draw and colour in the specified time.
Shalu Nanda (F- 324) and Poonam Bhatia (G-127) were given duty for this competition, which they very sincerely performed.
Overall response was very good. In spite of the chilly morning, residents came out in large numbers. How can they miss out Tambola in such a gathering? Later they had 2 houses of Tambola with very good dividends. Yesh Antal (D-513), Ritu Gupta (A-501) and Gita Singh (D- 414) took care of announcing the numbers and distributing prizes.
It was a fun day and all enjoyed very much. The whole idea behind celebrating The Republic Day was to bind the community together and encourage the spirit of unity in diversity.
Jai Hind !!
