Espacians celebrated the 74th Republic Day with full enthusiasm and zest.
At 9:30 AM, Prof. Ajit Sodhi unfurled the National Flag. He gave a speech & reminded us of sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. Children began the performances with a speech & then a recital kathak dance by girls on “Pushp ki Abhilasha”, choreographed by Aastha Gupta.
This was followed by solo dance & song presentations, which everyone enjoyed. Kids also sang “Hum honge kamyaab” led by a pianist. Few of our little munchkins danced on a foot tapping number from the movie Pathaan.
Dr. Nupur Goel (T32) presented an aesthetic & beautiful kathak dance on Teri Mitti (female version) from Kesari movie. These patriotic performances filled everyone’s heart and soul with patriotism.
The Espacia Box Cricket League (EBCL) took place too. T38 bagged the winning trophy. Every player was rewarded with a medal & a certificate for their participation. Players were also awarded in specific categories like best batsman, fielder, scorer, man of the match etc.
Food stalls serving different dishes like Burger, Sandwich, Chole Bhature, French Fries, Gulab Jamun, Bedmi Aloo Puri, & hot piping Jalebis along with Tea for breakfast were also arranged on payment basis. Residents relished the variety of food.
The celebration ended with residents reliving the nationalistic feeling again. Jai Hind!
