This year’s 76th Republic Day was celebrated with pomp and galore at the community centre in C block Sushant Lok. The invitation to the colony was sent beforehand by Dalwani, the GS of the SLRWA, in which the residents were implored to attend in great numbers and remember the martyrs on whose shoulders India’s Republic stands.
The chief guest was Retd. IG of CRPF who gave a very impressive speech and promised to contribute in the uplifting of the colony in whatever way possible. His suggestion that a group of responsible residents should be made that would take care of the medical emergencies was taken with uproar. Deepak Verma, the President of the current SLRWA spoke about their achievements of this year and promised to take the colony a notch further in the coming year through. The flag hoisting ceremony was conducted with great fervour and then was concluded with much merrymaking and sweets and lunch distribution. An impressive attempt of the SLRWA again!
