Children Steal the Show with Their Preformances
The 74th Republic Day of our sovereign and beloved country was celebrated with great zeal and joy in Prateek Wisteria on 26 January, 2023. On this special occasion, the society was decorated with tri colored balloons and flags all around including the main gate and the venue of celebrations. Luckily, the weather was favourable after a long span thereby boosting the spirit of Prateek Wisteria residents for Republic Day celebrations.
Residents of the society started pouring in at the venue immediately after the patriotic songs were played on the speakers. Quite a good number of residents gathered quickly to mark the occasion. The residents looked fresh, energetic, full of excitement and in great festive mood for the Republic Day celebrations.
The whole programme was divided in two parts; one for morning and one for evening. In the morning the national flag was unfurled. As soon as the flower petals showered from the fluttering tricolored flag, the National Anthem rented the air as sung by the residents in chorus. Some residents sang songs remembering our martyrs and freedom struggle heroes who sacrificed their lives for the sake of our country. Snacks were served post Flag unfurling ceremony. In the evening the residents witnessed cultural events and performances presented by the children and residents of the society. Avneet Kaur, turned out to be the “ Chota packet , bada dhamaka” and captivated the audience with her song “ Aye Watan”. Her performance received a thundering applause from the residents. Many energetic dance performances on patriotic songs were presented by dance groups composed of children from the society. The beautiful dance performances were enough to give goose bumps to the residents. The star performance of the day was given by Yatee, who is a special child with an abundance of talent. She played “ Vande Matram “ on the keyboard and the notes of the keyboard touched the residents’ hearts. Her performance was received with a sea of applause and hooting. Many other residents also sang and danced. The dhol, the lights, the decorations, the stellar performances, lip smacking food and the large gathering of residents all dressed in their best; all these were the ingredients for a perfect patriotic evening that the residents will remember for a long time.
