74th Republic Day of our Sovereign and Beloved country was celebrated with great zeal and joy at Saket Dham Society’s front Park on 26 January, 2023. On this special occasion, the society was decorated with tricolored balloons and flags all around including the main gate and the venue of celebrations. Luckily, the weather was favourable after a long span thereby boosting the spirit of Saket Dham residents for Republic Day celebrations.
Residents of Saket Dham started pouring in at the venue immediately after the patriotic songs were played on the deck. Quite a good number of residents gathered quickly to mark the occasion. Free from all fears of Covid after a long time, the residents looked afresh, energetic, full of excitement and in great festive mood for the ‘Republic Day’ celebrations.
The national flag was unfurled at around 11.30 AM. As soon as the flower petals showered from the fluttering tricolored flag, National Anthem rented the air as sung by the residents in chorus. Some residents sang songs remembering our Martyrs and Freedom struggle Heroes who sacrificed their lives for the sake of our country. Children read out patriotic poems and danced to their best which got great applause from the audience. Sweets, Snacks and hot tea were served post flag hoisting ceremony. This opportunity was also utilized to hold the General Body Meeting (GBM) organised by the society Management Committee to discuss the internal critical issues.
Subsequent to GBM Proceedings, the celebrations concluded with sumptuous and finger licking community lunch.
