India commemorated its 75th Republic Day on 26 January 2024 with a celebration of our country’s progress, democracy and rich cultural background. The day honours our adoption of the Constitution, which came into effect in 1950, when India transitioned into a republic.
As the country geared up to watch the much awaited and magnificent parade, AOH wasn’t far behind. Our team of AOA members organized the perfect event for all patriots to celebrate this significant occasion.
The winter morning commenced with our AOA President Alok Sahdev (5161) and Mukul Verdia welcoming our esteemed Chief Guest Retd. Air Vice Marshal K C Kapoor (4121) and Guest of Honour Vineet Singh Hukmani (3251).
AVM K C Kapoor is a decorated veteran who began his illustrious career with the Indian Air Force in 1957. He regaled the residents with an inspiring speech. This was followed by motivational words by Vineet S. Hukmani, who is a world record breaking and Grammy submitted singer-songwriter.
Our hearts swelled with patriotism as the Chief Guest began to unfurl our national flag. Petals poured out of our beautiful Tiranga, welcomed with salutes and applause all around. Residents were treated to a well-synchronized March Past by our elite security force, led by Security In-charge Ravinder Mishra.
It was a tribute to the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the country.
The stage was set for some awesome entertainment! Patriotic songs by our in-house artists got everyone heartily singing and clapping along. There were lilting tunes performed by solo vocalists and the AOA musical group, which added a happy and positive buzz to the air.
The cultural program culminated with everyone proudly singing our national anthem as the Tricolour fluttered in the early January morning breeze. If this wasn’t enough to warm our hearts, piping hot cups of tea and coffee, along with fresh snacks certainly touched the right chord.
