Rediscovering India Through the Bharatiya Lens – Breaking the Colonial and Marxist Myth-Dr. Kamlesh Kumar Bajaj

The British wrote the history of India and interpreted our culture and Hindu religion as a conqueror. They alienated the Hindus from their own Vedic civilization and cultural heritage. That the ancient Vedic civilization was primitive and barbaric was the colonial message, and that it was a Rude Civilization living in the dark ages, waiting to be rescued by modernity brought by Christianity and Science.

The introduction of the English education system by Macaulay in 1835, along with the Aryan Invasion Theory, which justifies the coming of invaders into India, underlies the colonial narrative. The challenge posed to this theory by archaeological excavations at the Indus Valley Civilization sites, which found an unbroken living Hindu religion from remote antiquity to the present, was ignored. Sadly, the same narrative has continued after independence due to Jawaharlal Nehru’s book “The Discovery of India”, in which he looked at India through the Western lens. He ignored the voices of sages like Maharishi Dayananda, Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo, and many others who said Aryans were the original natives of Aryavartta.

Dr. Kamlesh Bajaj looks at the history of India through a Bharatiya Lens. This book explores the ancient Vedic civilization from the original Vedic authorities, and many other modern independent historians and scholars. The high level of philosophy, spirituality, and science in the ancient Vedic civilization, was confirmed by the likes of Prof. John Playfair, who found the existence of Kaliyuga in 3102 BC. The author shows that the Vedic civilization was advanced and that the colonial narrative was motivated to uproot Hindus from their Vedic heritage. It also looks at the history of Islamic invaders, the unfolding of Islam in India, its role in the freedom struggle, and the impact of its ideology as a separate Muslim nation, along with the relevance of these ideas today.

Dr. Kamlesh Bajaj has a doctoral degree in Physics from McMaster University, Canada. He has worked in the government and industry in the field of Information Technology, including cyber security. He has authored books on technology.
