Reckless Driving Costing Innocent Lives

The gol chakkar near Triphala Park is well on its way to becoming the hit and run spot of sector 61. This perilous zone poses a threat to the lives of humans and animals alike. Recently, yet another

street dog was run over by a speeding car near the area in broad daylight. The poor creature’s limp body was found lying in a pool of blood that likely spurted out of its mouth as a result of the violent impact. Helpless dog lovers shed agonizing tears as it was too late to be of any aid to their beloved furry friend.

The utter lack of empathy and accountability of the perpetrators of such incidents is even more appalling. These cold-blooded monsters do not even bother to check on the animal and take it to the nearest vet clinic or provide it with the necessary first aid. They absolve themselves of all responsibility and leave the grievously injured animal to the mercy of fate. To those who consider stray dogs as pests and say ‘acha hua’, wait till someone you love undergoes the same tragic fate. Karma is unbiased and spares no one.

Reckless driving around the gol chakkar is becoming a menace. Wannabe Michael Schumachers go around driving at breakneck speeds only to abruptly press the brake pedal. It is a wanton move on their part intended to provoke stray dogs. On one side there are brave hearts fighting terrorists and infiltrators at the country’s borders, and then on the other side there are these people who are a social menace and go around getting a sadistic kick out of scaring stray dogs. What a stark contrast indeed! Truth is, these rash driving psychopaths are just not man enough, and never will be.

The area desperately needs speed breakers and surveillance cameras to restrain moronic murderers from going on a maiming and killing spree.
