This month at the Senior Citizen Forum (SCF) Defence Colony, we celebrated health and birthdays together, making September a memorable one! 1st September: Comprehensive free health check-up on the 1st of September.
We hosted a successful Comprehensive Free Health Check-Up at SCF Defence Colony, with an overwhelming turnout of members. This camp was thoughtfully designed to address the major health concerns of seniors, with support from specialists at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket. The expertise included a leading cardiologist to address all our cardiovascular concerns, reputed ophthalmologists for those facing cataract and vision-related issues, and an established dietician to guide dietary modifications for better health.
The free tests included essential investigations such as blood pressure measurement and ECG to monitor cardiovascular health, random blood sugar, and HbA1c to assess your glycemic status, screen for diabetes, and bone mineral density tests for evaluating musculoskeletal health. As we often say, “The most rewarding part of any service is seeing the satisfaction on the faces of those we serve.” We were truly delighted by the enthusiastic participation in this camp. We are deeply grateful to the entire team from Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, including doctors, dieticians, and technical staff, for their dedicated and loving service. “When we serve with genuine care, the happiness of our users becomes our own.” Every word of this quote resonated through their actions. I would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to my incredible management team. As the saying goes, “Take care of your body; it’s the only place you have to live.” We seniors take health as a priority.
29th September: Birthday Celebrations
The September birthday celebration at the Senior Citizen Forum was full of fun and joy, thanks to every one of you who graced us with your presence. Heartfelt thanks to our lovely host, Amarjeet Kaur Batra, for her warm welcome and kind wishes to our birthday boys and girls. The ambience was vibrant, with hit songs filling the room, and the live music had everyone dancing their hearts out. A special mention of this night’s enigmatic entertainers: Chander Sahdev, Ajay Kumar, Col. Baljit Gadhoke, Rani Gadhoke, Surjit Duggal, Chanda Arora, and Neelu Dheer for adding so much joy to the celebration with their dancing. Customised birthday cards were presented to our wonderful birthday stars by me, KS Rekhi, and Vijay Kumar. With delicious cake, yummy food, live music, and amazing company, what more could we ask for? “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” Thank you all for making every SCF event a blockbuster! “Life should not only be lived, it should be celebrated.” – Osho.
Looking forward to many more and May God bless the SCF family!
