Looking back at the festival of colours, it seemed summer had set in early! However at 11.30 pm on March 13, the celebration began with the traditional Holika Dahan ceremony, and many residents, including the children & the senior citizens, gathered to perform and witness the Puja. The flames went up and the people remembered how legendary Prahlad was saved to the dismay of Hrinyakashyap, the demon king! Prasad was distributed to all!
The much-awaited morning of the 14th was an occasion marked for Holi Milan! Revellers kept coming in small and large groups! Some barged in with large water guns to turn it into a wet Holi! More than 300 residents assembled to celebrate. The air was filled with the hues of gulal and fresh flower petals! Many danced to the captivating rhythms of the Dhol and swayed to the DJ’s lively tunes for hours as if there was no tomorrow! Loads of Gujiya too got a lot of attention!
Following the lively Holi celebration, a contributory lunch was served, featuring an array of mouthwatering dishes! It was amazing how some die-hard calory watchers followed their hearts and did justice to the food!
All in all, it was an enjoyable festival! The local RWA team did a splendid job! However, there were people who were heard complaining why Holi is only a ‘ once a year ‘ festival!!
