Over a period of time as Sector-50’s residents density has grown manifold, the availability of space for parking in the lanes outside one’s house has been diminishing rapidly.
One often reads of neighbours fighting over parking spaces, in some cases turning into fisty fights, exchange of firearms and fatalities too.
By and large the residents know and adjust each other peacefully. The problem arises on two counts:
1. Visitors not being guided by the house owners they are visiting as to where to park. Often it is noticed that the house owners turn a blind eye and/or quite indifferent to this matter. In neighbouring Delhi, often when we visit, we are asked “Where have you parked?” It reduces inconvenience at all ends.
2. House owners giving out their premises on rent, not letting the tenants park within their own house premises and neither guiding them “Where to park”. A “free for all” situation erupts; thereby creating distaste and stress situation.
Since residential premises are being let out on commercial terms, the least the owners can do is to impress upon their tenants to park in paid premises of “Designated Parking” in C Block lane, in close proximity of Neo Hospital. Such an action would reduce pressure on already over stretched lane parking slots.
While some may debate the matter saying “No one owns the parking.” True, but the first charge of usage would undoubtedly rest with the bonafide residents in immediate proximity visa-vis the Visitors and Tenants.
A sensitive matter, which can be handled tactfully, peacefully and proactively by each one of us, the esteemed residents of Sector-50, Noida.
A humble appeal for harmonious a “peaceful community living.”
